Besides being extremely delicious and tasty did you know that asparagus is also extremely high in Vitamins C and B6 as well as folate and glutathione? Asparagus is also very high in antioxidants.
As you can see asparagus is a very healthy and excellent nutritional choice.
So how exactly should you enjoy your asparagus? The purest and easiest way to enjoy your asparagus is by simply drizzling some olive oil on it and eating it.
You can also steam your asparagus. To steam your asparagus tie a bundle together and put into a pot of boiling water. Some people may have an asparagus steamer in which case you can just use that. Cover and steam the asparagus for between five and eight minutes.
You can also boil your asparagus. To boil the asparagus place the asparagus in a skillet with water. Boil for approximately five minutes.
Not interested in steaming or boiling and want to try something new? Blanch your asparagus by plunging the asparagus in freezing cold water immediately after boiling or steaming. The reasoning behind blanching? It immediately stops the cooking process and preserves both the color and taste of the asparagus.
Grilling asparagus is by far my favorite way to prepare it. Place the spears on a grill or George Foreman, spray with oil and grill for five to eight minutes.
