Did you know that by blending equal parts of low fat to fat free mayonnaise and low fat to fat free yogurt makes a tasty creamy and low fat or fat free dressing?
You can use this dressing for potato salads, sandwiches and pasta salads and can even spice it up to exactly your taste. You could also add a little bit of lime juice and maybe add a little bit of cumin or curry powder.
For those of you who love the peanut flavor of the Asian salad dressing we also have a tasty low-fat recipe for that.
You will need to gather and mix together a fresh bunch of cilantro, ½ cup vegetable broth, 4 lime wedges, ¼ tsp chili paste, ½ tsp ground ginger, 1 tsp minced garlic, 1 tsp sugar, 1 tsp sesame oil, 1/3 cup rice vinegar and 2 Tbsp low sodium soy sauce.
Another idea for a low fat salad dressing if the previous two do not interest you is to mix together instant minced onion, dried parsley flakes, horseradish, green pepper flakes, white pepper, salt and dried thyme leaves. Combine all the ingredients to taste and as long as you store in a cool and dry place this will be good for up to six months.
