This is certainly not a typical sausages recipe, but its taste is melting the feet and it must be chosen only by cookers that know the real deal about serving dishes as a sausage with onion gravy & mash.

The ingredients you need are: 4 peeled potatoes, 1/2 cup milk, 40g butter,1 tbsp olive oil, 8 thick beef sausages, 1 large red onion,1 tbsp plain flour , 1/4 cup dry red wine, 330 ml beef stock, 1/4 cup loosely packed coarsely chopped fresh continental parsley, steamed baby carrots and broccoli for serving.

First step of preparing this tasty sausage is to place the potatoes in a saucepan and to add cold water. Put them over high heat and after 15 min make sure you are draining them well. Remove them from the heat and use a potato masher to mash them.


Meanwhile heat the milk in the saucepan and add butter inside. Leave them in the pan until they simmer, then add them to the potatoes mash while keep mashing the whole mixture until it is smooth.

Next step is to add the sausages in heated oil in the pan and to cook them for 8 minutes. Place them on a plate and cover with a foil.

Combine onion, flour and oil in the pan and cook them together for 5 minutes. Stir in some wine and stock again; add them over medium-heat. Cook for not less than 5 minutes and add the sausages with the parsley.

Cook for another 2 minutes in order to combine the tastes. Serve the sausages with 1 spoon mashed potatoes and top it with gravy, broccoli and baby carrots.
