Chocolate cake is one of the most popular desserts all around the globe, often present in celebrations such as weddings, birthday parties, and anniversaries.

Other varieties will involve the use of other flavorings for the chocolate cake, such as coconuts, nuts, vanilla, cherries, fruit juice, liqueur, and caramel. For those who prefer the bittersweet taste of dark chocolate, this can also be substituted.

Good chocolate cake also has certain characteristics however they are made: they are not dry, but rather should be moist, fluffy, and light.

Its chocolate flavor should be rich and evident, but not too sweet. When baking, it also helps to use the best quality ingredients to bring out the excellent flavor and texture in the finished product.

2 Cups sugar

2 tsp baking soda

2 tsp baking powder

2 ¾ cup flour

½ cup cocoa (brand of your choice)

¼ tsp salt

2 eggs

2 cups boiling water

2/3 cup oil

1 tsp of vanilla essence

Mix all the dry ingredients for the chocolate cake first in a bowl; then add the oil, eggs, and vanilla essence. Beat all the ingredients well, and then add two cups of boiling water until they form one mixture.

Use a baking tin which you have greased with some butter, and use some paper as well. Pour the mixture onto the tin. Place this into the oven, which you will bake at 180 degrees Celsius for 1 – 1 ¼ hour.

After 50 minutes has passed, use a skewer to test the chocolate cake. If it is clean, your delicious cake is ready to be removed from the oven and enjoyed.
