The tropical chiffon cake differs from the conventional one, but it is praised as the most delicious variety of this cake.
The ingredients that you will need for a tropical chiffon cake are: 2 ¼ cups cake flour, 1 1/2 cups granulated sugar, 1 tablespoon baking powder, 1 teaspoon salt, 1/2 cup vegetable oil, 5 egg yolks, 1 teaspoon finely grated orange rind, 3/4 cup orange juice, 1 cup egg whites, about 8 egg whites, 1/2 teaspoon cream of tartar and 1 1/3 cup flaked coconut.
Prepare a mixing bowl and combine together the sugar, the baking powder, the salt and the flour.
Sift together and add the vegetable oil, egg yolks, orange rind and the orange juice. Mix them well and beat until smooth.
Meanwhile, in another bowl beat the eggs with the tartar cream until stiff peaks are formed. Pour the batter over the beaten eggs and add the coconut.
The tube pan is also important. It has to be 10-inch tube pan. Bake the mixture into the ungreased pan for no more than 55 minutes. Invert the cake, while it is in the pan and serve it cooled.
