There is one recipe that will surely surprise your guests – the Berliner doughnuts. Those are one of the most famous international desserts and they taste amazing.
The ingredients you need are:
- 1 cup milk;
- 1/3 cup butter;
- 1 pkg. dry yeast;
- 1 tsp. salt;
- ¼ cup lukewarm water;
- 4 cups all-purpose flour;
- ½ cup sugar;
- 2 eggs;
- 1 tsp. vanilla; and
- jelly for filling.
The preparation isn’t that difficult. The first step is to scald the milk and to soften the yeast in water. Set them aside and prepare a mixing bowl. Add together the sugar, butter and salt.
Mix them well and add the milk and 1 cup of flour. Beat the mixture until it’s smooth and stir the yeast.
Meanwhile, measure 3 cups of flour and add them one by one to the mixture as you beat carefully.
Make sure you get soft dough and add the eggs, which should be beaten.
When the dough is ready, form it as a ball, place in a greased bowl for 10 minutes and then cut it with cookie-cutter into small rounds.
Place jelly on each round, cover with another round and make sure their edges are pinched together.
Leave them for 30 minutes to rise before frying, and then use the electric fryer. When they are brown, remove and drain well. Sprinkle with a rich coat of powder sugar and serve.
